Will you venture to be a champion? It takes courage, putting yourself out there against your fellow competitors. But more importantly, it takes hard work and dedication. You showed up to class, you put in the time and effort. Now is the moment to see if you have what it takes to be a champion.
Venture Martial Arts will be hosting the Venture to be a Champion Tournament on May 19th and 20th in Golden, Colorado. It is bound to be an incredible event as competitors from around the state, country, and even world are attending, all working to achieve a gold medal. This is the last Colorado regional tournament before the State tournament, so it’s an important opportunity to earn points in qualifications for State and Worlds.
Beyond that, this is going to be the biggest regional tournament yet in the National Martial Arts Alliance! How exciting is that? There is expected to be over 500 competitors in attendance. That’s almost as big as the World Championship tournament! With that amount of people, competition is bound to be fierce. Bring your best game, expect to perform at your very best.
Don’t let the numbers intimidate you though. Tournaments are amazing opportunities to meet new people from new places and build friendships that can last a lifetime. It’s also a time to see what you excel at, and what areas you might need to improve upon. It shows you what you are made of and how hard you are willing to work to win.
Some changes will be made to this tournament to make it different and elevate it compared to other ones. On Friday, May 18th, there will be an all-day judging and coaching clinic. Everyone who plans on judging in tournaments is required to be there. The goal is to ensure that the judges will be their absolute best moving forward. Elevated and Inventive competitions will be on the 19th, the day before the other events. This is to give the competitors some rest time before competing in traditional events. The last, and perhaps most exciting part, is that there will be team sparring! The team that wins this tournament will get championship belts, similar to those seen in the WWE. Because they have to try out to be on the team, they get a special reward for working with their fellow teammates.
All of that is completely amazing, but there’s an energy in big tournaments that can’t be compared to anything else. It’s a room full of passion and skill, Martial Artists working to become their best selves. It’s a sharing of knowledge and support across the entire organization, everyone wants you to do amazing, even if they are competing against you. It’s a space that is unmatched in positivity and belonging.
Do you have what it takes to be a champion? Will you show up and put your best foot forward, no matter the outcome? We think you can venture to a better life by attending this tournament. We will see you there, wearing your gold medal.
