This Week at Venture Martial Arts: December 1, 2025

This week is NOT a sparring week, however, if your student is missing their yellow stripe, please bring gear to class. This is for all Level 2, Level 3, & Family class students. Instructors will work with students to get caught up for belt testing and promotion week.

Color Belt Testing

Level 3 and Family Class students’ belt testing will be December 13th in Central Park. Registration is open on the app. Once students earn their red stripe, they are eligible to sign up.

Level 2 students do not need to attend testing on December 13th. Students need to earn their red stripe in class prior to December 13th in order to be eligible to receive their next rank during belt promotion week (starting December 16th).

This information does not apply for Level 1 students. Level 1 students are promoted in class once they earn 10 black stripes on their belt.

Venture will be closed December 12th –15th – normal classes resume on Tuesday, December 16th.

Register for the Colorado Winter Classic Tournament

Registration is now open for the NMAA’s Colorado Winter Classic Tournament, which will be held February 7th at the Colorado School of Mines’ Steinhauer Fieldhouse. Discounted online pricing ends on February 4th, so register today!

We encourage all students of all belt levels and ages to compete at tournaments (yes, even white belt Little Dragons) – no previous experience required!

Learn more and register at https://s5.goeshow.com/nmaa/2026WinterClassic/

Additional Tournament Information:

If your student is a beginner, we recommend signing up for the Recreational Ring. In this ring, instructors walk students through their form, which removes the memorization component. The Recreational Ring provides a fun, stress-free environment that introduces students to a tournament setting. All students ages 5-6 are automatically classified as Recreational.

The Competitive Ring is designed for students who have their form memorized (1st half of form only). Students compete for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place podium spots.

Students have the option to spar or do self-defense. This selection is made at the time of registration. If you don’t have sparring gear, self-defense is the best choice for you!

If you have any questions or would like clarification on how tournaments work, please feel free to reach out! You can respond directly to this email or call us at 303-928-0043.
