Martial Arts is Life

Many people say that Martial Arts is their life. The truth is that it’s not. It is what makes life bearable through the challenges that we have to overcome. It’s what enables us not only to stand strong during the storms of life but also how to dance in the rain. Taekwondo empowers us to not only get through life, but to also enjoy every moment of it. Venture embraces the Venture to a Better Life Mentality each and every day.

Empowerment:

Martial Arts training empowers us to become the best version of ourselves. Each day we step on the mat we are getting stronger both physically and mentally. Every single part empowers us- whether it is learning new moves, kicking someone in the face, or smashing through boards. Each time we learn something new we become smarter and better. Winning at a tournament or defeating an opponent teaches us that we are capable of amazing things. We find our inner power every single day we dedicate to becoming a Black Belt.

Overcoming Challenges:

No one ever said that life is easy. We will always be faced with new challenges that push us to our limits. Karate training does the same thing. We  push our minds and bodies beyond what we think we are capable of. Sometimes we fail, even if we worked extremely hard to achieve it. We fail and it is devastating. But taekwondo teaches us to overcome failures and to keep pushing until we succeed. It’s overcoming the challenges of taekwondo that helps us overcome the challenges of life.

Happiness and Gratitude:

The most important part of life is to be happy and to be grateful for all that you have. It is easy to get caught up in all the things that we don’t have and forget to be thankful for what we do have. Martial Arts teaches us to appreciate all things. We are taught to be thankful for our bodies and all that they are able to do. At the dojang, we are surrounded by people that love and support us, each person working to achieve the same goals. After each tough workout you feel a sense of achievement and happiness. We are thankful to those that we get to share this incredible journey with.

Taekwondo might not be life, but it sure does teach us how to get through life with a smile on our faces. It empowers us, gets us through life’s challenges, and gives a profound sense of happiness and gratitude. Maybe it’s closer to life than we think. We teach this in every class at Venture.
